Child Developement
Making the Most of Your Second Trimester
During your pregnancy it is important that you look after yourself and your baby. While you will probably want to appear professional and not be seen “slacking”, it’s worth listening to your body to make sure you’re not putting yourself at risk.
Top Tips:
Remember, you’re not alone in this
People who have had or are currently having the same experiences as you can share pearls of wisdom – talk to others, either in person or join an Facebook group of like-minded people.
Think about childcare options
Nanny, grandparents, extended family, infant care- all can offer much needed support –each with a different set of pros and cons. Hear different perspectives before you make up your mind on what will work best for you.
Plan for a vacation
Most experienced parents will tell you to go for a “baby moon” during your second trimester while you are still up and about with boundless energy and what will appear in retrospect as a lot of free time.
Agree on a work plan
Talk to your boss about what work you will deliver before you go on maternity leave, but ensure it is achievable without putting yourself under superhuman strain.
