Laundry mystery: At-home activities for toddlers
Including your child in your work makes them feel valued. This activity will help your child to learn concepts of sorting based on colours and also improves their vocabulary. As you sort clean clothes, invite your child to find and hand you various items. For example, “Will you give me one white sock? Mommy’s red shirt? Your yellow pants?” Have a back and forth conversation about this treasure hunt. When your child pauses to think so they can find and hand you an item, they have to focus and remember what you said as they look for clues. These are skills that will help them learn new things in the future.
